In just three days, Jesus did all of God’s Christmas shopping for all eternity. So again, have you received God’s gift of salvation? That is a great question, why would you even need salvation? Let’s take the fastest trip possible from creation to today.
In the beginning, God created the universe, including the earth, space and time. He created us and gave us the earth to manage for Him. We had a perfect relationship with Him until we used our free will to choose a new source: ourselves. From God’s vantage point outside of time, He saw the end from the beginning. Knowing Jesus was going to be our solution, He hinted that a redeemer would come and make things right. (Genesis 3:15)
From that time until Moses, people did what was right in their own eyes. This system was a mess, God scrapped it with a flood and the second round wasn’t much better. But God in His patience chose to give us the law to show us that we really need Him as our source, we can never meet His standards without Jesus. (James 2:10)
Finally, Jesus came as a man in order to represent mankind the same way Adam did. Only this time instead of going from life to death with Adam, we get the opportunity to choose life instead of death with Jesus. (1 Corinthians 15:21-22)
Today, Jesus has bought us the gift of salvation. We get to choose life for ourselves and to have God as our source again. It is finished, Jesus paid the price and God is no longer counting humanities sin’s against them. That includes you, the gift of salvation and all that it entails is yours. Have you opened it yet?
God’s plan is for you to have perfect relationship with Him through Jesus, it’s His free gift. Once you receive Him as your gift, you are part of God’s family. It’s the best family to be in and the perks are out of this world. Join the family. The dirty little secret is that when you do, you be leaving the Devil’s family. (John 8:37-47) Yah, sorry there are only two families to choose from; everyone is born into the Devil’s family, but the good news is you can choose to be born again into God’s family.
The family rules are summed up in this: love God first and love your neighbor as yourself. If you aren’t a child of God, receive Him. It’s simple and permanent, God never rejects His children.
Romans 10:9-10 says that if you confess Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
If you believe God sent Jesus in the flesh, that He died on the cross and that God raised Him from the dead. Then you can confess Him and receive the gift of salvation.
Pray this and you will be saved, born into God’s family. Read it through first. If you believe it, pray it out loud.
Father thank You for sending Jesus to save me. I believe you raised Him from the dead and I receive His sacrifice. I receive Jesus as a gift and I give you myself to be your child. Father, help me walk as Your new son or daughter.
Thank You
Congratulations and welcome to the family. (Romans 8:15) I encourage you to keep reading this blog. The next one will lay out a plan to help you walk in all that you have available to you. You can mature and learn to walk in the destiny God has planned for you. It is the good life, not always easy, but undoubtedly the best.
If not, ask God to reveal Himself to you and you can check out the book, Cold Case Christianity: A Homicide Detective Investigates The Claims of the Gospels. I found it helpful and a good read.
